Inkpad Path Menu – Mask & Unmask

by Lindsay in Features

Masks are a non-destructive way of hiding areas of your design or an imported image.

Mask

With several paths selected, Mask will be applied to the top most path. Any parts of the selected paths that are outside of the mask path will be hidden. The mask path will retain its Stroke properties and if it has a Fill colour applied, that will become the background of the masked area. If the selected paths are in separate layers they will be moved to the mask path layer.

Masks can also be applied to photographs or other imported images, where a path is present above it.

Unmask

Where a mask is present and selected Unmask will simply remove it and make all paths visible in their entirety. If the paths were originally created in separate layers, Unmask will not return them to their separate layers.
